THE WOLF AND THE LEAN DOG

THE WOLF AND THE LEAN DOG

A Wolf sneaking close to a town one night met a Dog.
It occurred to be an exceptionally lean and hard Dog, and Master Wolf would have turned up his nose at such pitiful admission had he not been more hungry than common.
So he started to edge toward the Dog, while the Pooch stepped back.
"Give me a chance to remind your lordship,"
said the Dog, his words intruded on once in a while as he avoided a snap of Wolf's teeth, "How repulsive it is eating me now.
Take a gander at my ribs.
I am only skin and bone.
Be that as it may, given me a chance to let you know something in private.
In a couple of days, my lord will give a wedding feast for his solitary girl.
You can think about how fine and fat I will develop on the pieces from the table.

_Then_ is the opportunity to eat me."

The Wolf couldn't resist figuring out how decent it would be to have a fine fat Dog to eat rather than the gaunt question prior to him.
So he left pulling in his belt and promising to return.
Some days after the fact the Wolf returned for the guaranteed devour.
He found the Dog in his lord's yard, what's more, requested that he turn out and be eaten.
"Sir," said the Dog, with a smile,
"I will be enchanted to have you eat me. I'll be out when the watchman opens the entryway."
Be that as it may, the
"watchman"
was a colossal Dog whom the Wolf knew by agonizing experience to be extremely unkind toward wolves.
So he chose not to pause and made off as quickly as his legs could convey him.
_Do not rely upon the guarantees of those whose intrigue it is to hoodwink you._
_._
