A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Disneyland in Anaheim, California, on Monday evening, causing the temporary closure of 35 rides at the park and its neighbor, Disney California Adventure.

The tremor, which occurred just after 8:00 PM, was felt by visitors and staff alike.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported and no damage was initially found.

However, as a precautionary measure, Disneyland officials closed the affected rides for inspection.

These closures included popular attractions such as Space Mountain, Rise of the Resistance, Radiator Springs Racers, and Toy Story Midway Mania.

Only a handful of rides remained open, including Jungle Cruise, Mad Tea Party, Mickey's PhilharMagic, and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.

The earthquake rattled guests, some of whom shared their experiences on social media.

Napa photographer Elise Delamare wrote on Instagram,

"3.5 Earthquake hit when we were in line at Winnie The Pooh and everything is down now."

Another visitor, Vivs Candyland, reported being evacuated from the Haunted Mansion.

Disneyland staff worked diligently to inspect the rides and ensure their safety.

Gradually, throughout the evening, more and more rides were reopened.

By the end of the night, all but a few had resumed normal operation.

The earthquake served as a reminder of the importance of safety protocols at theme parks.

While Disneyland's decision to close rides may have caused some inconvenience for guests, it ultimately prioritized their safety and well-being.

The swift response and thorough inspections ensured that everyone could enjoy the rest of their evening at the park.

This incident highlights the need for preparedness and awareness in earthquake-prone regions.

Theme parks, like Disneyland, have established procedures in place to ensure the safety of guests and staff in the event of a natural disaster.

By remaining calm and following instructions, visitors can play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and safe response to such situations.
